TV & Electronics Removal in NJ, PA & DE
TV and electronics removal means we carry the set out from wherever it is, including the heavy tube TV in the basement, and send it to electronics recycling instead of the landfill. In New Jersey that is not optional: televisions and computers are banned from the trash.

Printers, copiers, fax machines and other office electronics.
Home electronics
Stereos, speakers, DVD and VCR players, game consoles, cables.

Loose batteries, especially lithium and rechargeable ones, cannot go in a junk load. Retail take-back bins and county hazardous waste days handle those. The full list of what we can and cannot haul is on our what we take page.
Why the Trash Truck Leaves the TV Behind
New Jersey’s Electronic Waste Management Act has banned televisions, computers, monitors, laptops and tablets, desktop printers and fax machines from the trash since January 1, 2011. Bulk crews are not allowed to take them, which is why a TV left at the curb in most towns is still there the next day.
The law also makes drop-off recycling free for households, and most towns have a site. The catch is that you have to get it there:
- Drop-off sites keep weekday or Saturday-morning hours and are usually limited to that town’s residents, with ID.
- Some limit quantities. Bridgeton’s convenience center, for example, takes six units per visit.
- Businesses usually cannot use them. Municipal sites are for residents.
- A big tube TV can weigh well over a hundred pounds. It is a two-person carry, and it does not ride well in a sedan.
If you have one flat screen and a free Saturday, the town drop-off is the right answer and it costs nothing. We will tell you that on the phone.
When to Have It Hauled
- It is a tube or projection set and it is in a basement, an attic or an upstairs bedroom.
- There are several. Estate and rental cleanouts often turn up several old sets.
- It is an office. Monitors, towers, printers and a copier cannot go to a residents-only site. See commercial cleanouts.
- It is part of a bigger job. On a residential cleanout or estate cleanout we separate electronics for recycling as we go.
- You have no way to transport it, or the drop-off hours do not work.

Before We Arrive: Your Data
Computers, laptops, tablets and smart TVs hold accounts and personal information. Before pickup, back up what you need, sign out of your accounts and factory-reset the device. If a computer will not turn on, pull the hard drive and keep or destroy it yourself. We haul equipment. We do not wipe it or certify data destruction, so a business with compliance requirements should arrange that separately first.
How Pricing Works
Electronics are priced by the space they take in the truck, plus access. A single TV is a minimum-load job. Several items, or electronics as part of a larger load, are priced on total volume.
Per-piece fee: televisions and CRT monitors carry a disposal fee at the facility. We pass it through at cost and name it in your quote before you agree.

TV and Electronics Removal FAQs
How much does it cost to have a TV removed?
A single television is priced as a minimum load, plus a per-piece disposal fee charged by the facility for TVs and CRT monitors. The full price is given upfront. Adding a TV to a larger load usually costs less than a separate trip.
Do you take old tube TVs?
Yes. We remove tube (CRT) televisions, projection sets and console TVs from any floor, including basements and attics.
Can I throw a TV in the trash in New Jersey?
No. Since January 1, 2011, New Jersey law has banned televisions, computers, monitors, laptops and tablets, desktop printers and fax machines from the trash. They must be recycled.
Is there a free way to get rid of a TV?
Usually, yes. Most New Jersey towns have a free electronics drop-off for residents. If you can lift and transport the set yourself, that is the cheapest option. We are for the ones that are too heavy, too many, or in the basement.
Do you wipe computers before recycling them?
No. We haul and recycle equipment but do not wipe drives or certify data destruction. Back up, sign out and reset your devices, or remove the hard drive, before pickup.
