The Honest Options for an Old Couch

OptionWorks whenDoes not work when
Town bulk pickupYour town takes furniture, you can get it to the curb, and you can wait for the right day.It is upstairs or in a basement, your town limits weight, or you need it gone now.
DonationIt is clean, with no rips, stains, pet hair or smoke smell. It is worn. Most charities turn those away, and many do not pick up.
Retailer haul-awayYou are buying a new one and the store offers it at delivery. The new couch is already in the house.
Giving it away onlineIt is decent and someone with a truck wants it.Nobody shows up, which is common.
Junk removalIt is heavy, it is not on the ground floor, or you want it gone on a specific day.You have a free curbside option and the time to use it.

If the free option fits your situation, use it. We will say so on the phone.

Curbside rules vary by town. Our guides to Cherry Hill and Philadelphia show two very different sets of rules a few miles apart.

Why Couches Are Awkward

  • They went in easier than they come out. Furniture is often delivered before a railing, a door or a basement finish was installed.
  • Sleeper sofas are heavy. The folding steel bed frame adds a lot of weight, and it shifts when the sofa is tilted.
  • Stairs and turns. A long sofa on a turning staircase is a two-person job with a plan.
  • Free pickup is not always free. A couch you cannot get outside is not eligible for anybody’s curbside program.

We deal with all of that so you do not put a hole in the drywall.

How It Works

01

Send a Photo

Plus which floor it is on and whether there are stairs.

02

Get the Price

Upfront and free. No obligation.

03

We Carry It Out

Two people. You do not lift anything.

04

Donate or Dispose

Usable couches go to donation where we can place them. The rest is disposed of properly.

How Pricing Works

A single couch is a minimum-load job. A sectional or a couch plus other furniture is priced by the space it takes in the truck. Stairs and access are built into the quote. If you have other things to go, adding them to the same visit is usually cheaper than a second trip. More on our pricing page.

Couch Removal FAQs

How much does couch removal cost?

A single couch is priced as a minimum load, adjusted for stairs and access. Sectionals and multiple pieces are priced by the space they take in the truck. Estimates are free and upfront from a photo.

Is there free couch removal near me?

Sometimes. Many towns take furniture at the curb on a bulk day, and a clean couch in good condition may be accepted by a charity. Both require you to get it out of the house. We are the option for couches that are heavy, upstairs, worn, or need to go on a specific day.

Do you take sleeper sofas and sectionals?

Yes. We remove sleeper sofas, sectionals, recliners, loveseats and futons from any floor.

Do I have to move the couch outside?

No. We carry it out from wherever it is, including basements and upper floors.

Will you donate my old couch?

If it is in usable condition, it goes to donation wherever we can place it. Couches with heavy wear, stains or odors are usually not accepted by charities and are disposed of properly.
