Bulk Trash in Camden County: Every Town Is Different
There is no county bulk pickup. Each municipality runs its own program. Three examples from what the towns publish show how far apart they are:
| Town | How bulk works |
|---|---|
| Cherry Hill | Furniture and mattresses on the regular trash day, with four feet of clearance from the cart. Appliances on Wednesdays only, by appointment. Electronics to the Recycling Center at 1 Perina Boulevard. No collection at vacant or commercial properties. |
| Winslow Township (Sicklerville) | Bulk one Thursday a month, set by your trash day. Mattresses must be wrapped in plastic. Metal and appliances on Fridays by appointment. No construction debris or electronics. |
| Pennsauken | Up to two bulk items a week on your collection day, after notifying Public Works by 2:00pm the business day before. Carpet and wood cut to 4 feet and bundled under 50 pounds. |
Two rules hold everywhere in the county: televisions and computers cannot go in the trash under New Jersey law, and debris generated by a contractor is the contractor’s to remove. Details for Cherry Hill are in Cherry Hill bulk trash pickup vs. junk removal. Rules change, so confirm with your own public works department.
County Resources
- Household hazardous waste: Camden County’s Division of Environmental Affairs runs collection events for residents through the year. Call (856) 858-5241 for the schedule. Oil-based paint, solvents, pesticides and pool chemicals belong there, not on any hauler’s truck.
- Construction and remodeling material: Pennsauken’s township site lists the Pennsauken Sanitary Landfill at 9600 River Road for residential drop-off of construction and remodeling material, weekdays 7:00am to 3:30pm, with a fee based on weight. Call 856-665-8787 before you go to check what and who they accept.

How Pricing Works
Volume, labor and disposal set the number: how much of the truck your items fill, how hard they are to get out, and what they cost to dispose of responsibly.
About disposal surcharges: mattresses and box springs, tires, anything containing refrigerant, televisions and CRT monitors, pianos and safes carry a per-piece fee at the facility. We pass those through at cost and name them in your quote before you agree.
